Yeah, Baltimore seems to be taking the brunt of it. Stay warm!
I just called my military son who lives near Baltimore. Turns out he answered his cell from a mountain warfare exercise in the Rocky Mountains. It is snowing there, but he is having fun. When he was 17 in ROTC he had my husband drive him and friends to the Appalacian mountains for a weekend exercise at 8f degrees. They had no tents, just shelter halves. The first night they took their boots off and they were frozen in the morning. The second night they put the boots in the foot of the sleeping bags. A guy rolled over in the night and his boots bopped my son on the nose. The only injury of the trip. He loves this shxx.
Called a scientifically oriented friend in downtown DC. Last night around midnight they measured 11 inches. An hour ago they measured 19 inches. It is still snowing heavily. I was living in DC for a big snow in 1966. The government closed for 3 days. In my side street the six cars parked on either side of the street were completely covered and not even visible as mounds. It was a week before a garbage truck pushed through the street.
In New Jersey, in 1947 (the Big Snow of ‘47), there was 27”. The snow was up to the middle of my chest. My father dug a path down to the street. I dug caves in the side of the trench for my 15 month old brother to “live” in. We had fun.
