Toyota missed an opportunity to score a PR win. They should be boasting about the billions they’re spending on the recalls (”See — your safety comes first at Toyota!).

I was thinking that. However, the facts are that Toyota makes the highest-quality products of any auto manufacturer, with the sole exception of a few other Japanese makers like Honda.

Their first excuse was that it was defective floor mats. Now its the pedal itself. Gonna bet that it is really the computer.
I had a 1989 Chevy that would accelerate on its own. Went through the floor mat, gas pedal scheme. It was the computer!
