This is an outgrowth of the nanny state.
Used to be that family members willingly and without pay, took care of their elderly. Then the State stepped in with tax payers’ money - making it possible for *relatives* to qualify as care-givers. Saving money by not using trained personnel?????
So, in effect, this unqualified cretin was getting $900 from the State to abuse her own aunt.

That is the sad part. she got paid to do this’
There are many caring relatives , she wasn’t one.
She only did it for the money.
I wonder if any other family members just ignored this. they should also be charged.
makes one afraid to get old

I can't even imagine what this poor woman had to endure. Her fat niece starved her to death and forced her to suffer severe pain from the starvation and the bed sores that went to the bone. I only hope that she has a family member who will give her the same treatment when she becomes elderly and infirm.
