A Rod report . . .
Grab the matches?
If it's not one thing, it's another in the life of embattled former Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
Consider: Not only did the feds burn him with a new set of indictments Thursday, but his book tanked -- and his publisher is joking about selling the book covers to Duraflame.
Whaaaa: Julie Chrystyn, the new president of Phoenix books -- which printed 75,000 copies of Blago's book: The Governor -- quipped she was threatening to sell them to Duraflame . . ."to wrap around their fake logs to start fires burning in fireplaces," she told a New York tabloid columnist. "Especially in the Chicago area. Please. It's only covers burning. It's only burning pictures of [Blagojevich's] lovely profile. This way we could at least sell a part of his lousy book."
Background: Chrystyn, who inherited the job of former Phoenix books chief Michael Viner, who signed off on the Blago book deal and then died, tells Sneed: "The book sold briskly during the first week, but died off. It's just tongue-in-cheek I'd have the covers burned, but the books -- which are in a warehouse -- will eventually be destroyed. It's too bad Blago couldn't sell it off like hot dogs and wedding gowns when he taped Donald Trump's 'Celebrity Apprentice' show."
“Blago is fearlessly holding onto his title as the biggest joke in Illinois.”
Only because Obama went to Washington.
