Most of the "condescending" and "arrogant" people I have met in my 64 years have been those who really harbor deep-seated inferiorities. The aloofness and arrogance is their mechanism for hiding those things.

People who have been fed a steady diet of "it's someone else's fault" all their lives, live with anger and a big chip on their shoulders for their perceived "enemies".

It is also present in those who were overly priviledged - or "spoiled", for lack of a better word. These folks are so used to being lavished with attention and someone giving their all to prevent an accidental loss of self-esteem in the little darlings, that they grow up and expect everyone else to coddle them like mommy and daddy did. They're some of the worst.

A lot of the elites are just "wannabes" who don't "wannabe" bad enough to work for it; they depend on the government and others to pave their way through life, pass them when they fail, and sooth them when they're sad...again, immature children.

When governments started the meddling with the disciplining of children, and made single parenting 'profitable' and easy, there are many who took/take the easy road...so I give you, the democrat party.

Most of the exceptionally accomplished people are amazingly humble and nonjudgmental. Being condescending is a protective mechanism developed by people damaged in childhood. The leftist snowball gets rolling by something as simple as not being invited to a birthday party or allowed to play with someone else's toy. Once started it's hard to stop the snowball from growing.
