President Obama called Thursday for high-level talks with Republicans to work out a compromise on health care legislation, then putting the resulting bill to a vote in Congress.
"If Congress decides we're not going to do it, even after all the facts are laid out, after all the options are clear, then the American people can make a judgment as to whether this Congress has done the right thing for them or not," Obama said. "That's how democracy works."
Obama's comments were the first clear signal from the White House or Democrats in Congress on how they would proceed on a top legislative priority after losing their 60-seat super-majority in the Senate.
Republican Scott Brown was sworn in as the new U.S. senator from Massachusetts earlier Thursday, leaving the Democrats one vote shy of being able to overcome GOP filibusters of health care reform and other major initiatives.
Asked at a party fund-raising event about the Democratic strategy for health care reform going forward, Obama said Democratic leaders in the House and Senate were working out differences in the separate health care bills passed by each chamber last year.
Once that was finished, Obama said, the next step would be "to call on our Republican friends to present their ideas."

NO THANKS!

The “GOP” should BECKON Obomba to them.....and then read him the riot act!
“But you get too much money from those entities to do those two things, dont you?”
Maybe this is “above his pay-grade”, too?
“Heres two ideas for you Zero:
1.Let people buy insurance across state lines
2.Institute tort reform”
3. Then take out public option, mandatory payments, criminal penalties, access to bank accounts, and creation of new government agencies.
Then the Commiecrates won’t support it, and a good result is obtained.
It’s a little late for compromise, Zero. You can’t try to cram your Socialist Dream through the Senate 60-40 and then ask the Republicans to trim a little to make it fit 59-41.
You have to go back to the drawing board.
Throw out the individual mandate. Throw out the pre-existing conditions. Throw out the Death Panels. Throw out the new taxes. Throw out the straight-jacketing of insurance policies.
Add in tort reform. Add in individual ownership of policies. Add in interstate competition. Add in tax breaks for individual purchases and medical savings accounts. Come up with market-based solutions.
Drive a stake through the heart of single payer. Give up on the fantasy of government nationalization of health care. Let the people be free.
Then we’ll talk...

The GOP will say that any bill without extensive tort reform is a non-starter, which will cut the legs from under Democrat funding so they will refuse. D.O.A.
(the fact that Barry is even thinking about talking to the GOP shows he is out of options)
the GOP will cave..wait and see.
Stand up and say, once and for all, that health care is not, and can never be, a “right”.
If a person has a right to the service provided by others, then those others must be slaves, with no choice but to provide that service.
If you have a right
To the service I provide,
I must be your slave.
Translation:
Get GOP in a room, show them the bill Harry and Nancy have put together. Tell them that this is what will be voted on. Bolt from the room to an adoring media and tell them that the Republicans refused to compromise. Blame Republicans for the failure to get a bill through. In short, all a political tactic from a man who is decrying politics.
Hope springs eternal for that ONE RINO sell out! And why not! With the likes of Snowe, Collins, Voinovich, Grahamnesty, McCain and others, it ain’t a bad bet!
Obama closed the door on health care negotiations months ago.
Now he has the audacity to ask Republicans to come back to the table now that he finds he needs them.
FUBO.
at least one of em’ - Snowe, Collins, Graham, McCain - will vote for cloture

Be my guest in expanding on the two I posted. I was agreeing they should throw out the whole mess and start over with those two but you all have given a few others that are really good, too!
His Zeroness is then going to invite the Republican in and force this bill down the throats of the Pubbies and the American citizens. How is this working together? He lies so many times that even he believes himself.
That should be a bumper sticker!
