If you have to pay taxes forever on your property or lose it, do you ever really own it?
Former Republican State Representative Talmadge Heflin, now with the Texas Public Policy Foundation, joins me to discuss his latest editorial "Yes, Texas Can End The Property Tax". Governor Perry seems doubtful... see my interview with him where he mentions the topic here.

No, you maintain ownership only by government sufferance.

Here are some quotes from someone who would be a dream guest... James Traficant July 20, 1995
"...Mr. Speaker, retirement tax, income tax, property tax, excise tax, sales tax, beer tax, tobacco tax, cable tax, telephone tax, gasoline tax, hotel tax, surtaxes, taxes on taxes, and, don't forget when you die, inheritance tax. But also how about tolls, user fees, service charges, licenses, transfers. And some experts around the country are saying we don't need tax reform.
Beam me up, Mr. Speaker. Maybe, just maybe, these so-called experts are so dumb, we could throw them at the ground and they would probably miss..."
December 12, 1995
"...Mr. Speaker, how can America be bankrupt? There are airport taxes , highway taxes, excise taxes, estate taxes, gas taxes , property taxes, income taxes, sales taxes, luxury taxes, nanny taxes, old taxes, new taxes, hidden taxes, inheritance taxes; there is even now a tax called a sin tax. I say to my colleagues, no wonder the American people are taxed off..."
"...The truth is that Congress as a Congress that taxes everything ultimately will tax freedom and will not balance anything. What is next? A budget tax? Is it any wonder that the American people are saying, kiss my taxes?..."
"...Beam me up, Mr. Speaker. I yield back the balance of my taxes..."

I was hoping someone would go and report. The problem is it is Superbowl weekend and that would be an entire weekend trip.

But it is... lol... I have to drive to Houston!
But I do get an unimpeded view of Sarah Palin for the effort, which is cool. I've never seen her "live". Just thinking about it makes me wonder why I didn't jump on the opp when it first presented itself. I'm an idiot. lol.
