This news should really make those in the hardest hit areas of the inner cities feel good. The unemployment rate is dropping! Woo Hoo! Isn't Obama great???

BS. More people are unemployed this month than last month and everyone knows it. Especially in the inner cities.

Self-serving manipulations of statistics can't put food on the table or pay the rent. 8,000,000 people put out of work.

This is misery and sadness of epic proportion. The pablum that is spewed daily now by Barack Hussein is a very thin gruel indeed.

Sounds like a bunch of people simply gave up on finding a job.Or do they stop counting people when their unemployment benefits run out?

After Nafta was signed, those unemployed over 1 year and deemed discouraged were rolled off the civilian labor force.

Therein lies the problem of whether to sue them and completely kill my chances of employment anywhere else or just keep telling about my experiences. Age discrimination is rampant now. Look at who is getting laid off, it isnt the cheap college grads, it is the knowledge base that gets the better pay. Go into any corp office anymore and just look around. There is nobody in there over about 35 years old. I went to a large trade show a week ago in SW Kansas. There was not an experienced company representative in the place. Nobody at the booths but kids who had no idea about their companies or products.

When they dont know, then they try to lie their way out and feed you BS. I finally told one kid. That is not true, I work with those people, and I KNOW for a fact that they do not do business with your company. He was just standing there blinking as I walked away.

"..A Labor Department survey of households found that 541,000 more Americans had jobs last month. But most of those gains were attributed to seasonal adjustments to the data. Without those adjustments, which account for reduced hiring during winter, the data show fewer people had jobs last month..."

Does that sound like BS to anyone else?

Almost another million jobs lost and added from 2009 and we are down to 9.7%? HELLO?!?!? Those November jobs were CHRISTMAS PART TIME JOBS.

We are so much worse than we thought we were.

To count the underemployed you need to use the U-6 number, which is the closest to how unemployment was counted in the 1980’s.

U- = 16.5% seasonally adjusted
18.0% not seasonally adjusted

The ones who “shrugged” aren’t reporting being unemployed.

Obama changed the numbers and hopes no one will notice.

A good deal of these “gains” represent temporary census workers, ACORN-types funded by the “stimulus.”

This is saying that the gain of jobs is not real.

TrimTabs: Here's How A Flawed Holiday Seasonal Adjustment Made The Jobs Data Look Way Better Than The Reality

".. Flawed Flawed Seasonal Adjustments

Seasonal adjustments are designed to smooth out the regular ups and downs in employment over the course of a year. These adjustments assume a repetitive employment cycle and work reasonably well when the economy is growing at a steady pace year-after-year. However, when the economy turns, the seasonal adjustment methodology breaks down. In particular, the current economic downturn has persisted for almost two years and the seasonal adjustment methodology was never designed to address this type of environment.

The problem worsens during the holiday season because the BLS applies huge seasonal adjustments to account for the large number of temporary retail jobs added and then subtracted to payrolls. In the past three months, the BLS seasonal adjustments subtracted a staggering 3.5 million jobs from an adjusted job loss of 208,000. In January, when the seasonal adjustments are the largest of the year, the BLS will add anywhere from 2.0 to 2.3 million jobs to their survey results. In our opinion, applying a seasonal adjustment numbering in the millions, in order to report monthly job losses numbering in the tens of thousands, is a fool’s errand.

These numbers are probably an attempt to target Conservative talk radio and the evil party of "NO" aka the Republicans and followers of the "Tea Party" movement for all of the nay saying and negative evil hate speech that they embrace and spew.

My guess is that there will be some kind of press conference or at least a lot of talking points ready to be released to the MSM dinosaur media today to slam the evil conservatives and Tea Party types.

Possibly another assault against freedom of speech by censoring, by decree, any type of dissent against the so called Divine Socialist Movement headed by the anointed "O" is in the works.

Hey and they re-wrote and re-organized the BLS reports. Cool. ...

I am sure that is just updating to make the ‘new improved’ report high tech, don’t you?

Sure ... and I have a slightly used bridge to sell you.

As best as I can figure, another ~110,000 were dropped from the civilian labor force, and BLS is using 'seasonal adjustments' that assume lots of the job losses were temps hired for the Holidays. Despite the seasonal adjustment, another 880,000 are unemployed for a total of 16,147,000.

Now this is not counting independent workers, those working part time who need full time work, or those who took early SS to get some money in but need full time work. And what really galls me is that per PEW 8 million illegal aliens have jobs, and over 2009 another 1.5 million legal workers were brought into the country.

To 'help' the unemployment situation, at the DHS Napolitano Invites More Countries To Use H-2A/H-2B Visas

Shadowstats.com put unemployment at 22% before this report; I can't wait to see their new figures.

As long as Obama and the Dems attacks on Bush43 are working, they will not let up.

This unemployment figure is going to be touted by Obama as good news and many Americans will see it as good news. While it may be part of an overall economic recovery that is in its earliest stages, its by no measure an end to bad times. And Obama will play it up for all its worth.

No doubt about it the numbers are being cooked.

We have a bunch of illegals working around here, new trees on the roads, which we really needed right now. Sane people would work on getting real productive jobs instead of planting trees.

Thanks for the link to Shadowstats.com, do you believe what they say? Can they be trusted?

Perhaps you should have point the punk to the laws governing employment:

The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), which protects individuals who are 40 years of age or older.

Yes, the margin of error is highly suspect:

You can’t survey homeless people by telephone, and you certainly can’t telephone households that have had their phones disconnected because they are unemployed and don’t have the cash.

Therefore, the margin of error will always fall in favor of the employed.

Ergo, this job report is complete and utter Orwellian propaganda from our Commie Dark Overlords.

Cheer
