Charles Krauthammer: The Electorate vs. Obama's Agenda
Real Clear Politics / The Washington Post ^ | February 5, 2010 | Charles Krauthammer, M.D.

I am not an ideologue," protested President Obama at a gathering with Republican House members last week. Perhaps, but he does have a tenacious commitment to a set of political convictions.

Compare his 2010 State of the Union to his first address to Congress a year earlier. The consistency is remarkable. In 2009, after passing a $787 billion (now $862 billion) stimulus package, the largest spending bill in galactic history, he unveiled a manifesto for fundamentally restructuring the commanding heights of American society -- health care, education and energy.

A year later, after stunning Democratic setbacks in Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts, Obama gave a stay-the-course State of the Union address (a) pledging not to walk away from health care reform, (b) seeking to turn college education increasingly into a federal entitlement, and (c) asking again for cap-and-trade energy legislation. Plus, of course, another stimulus package, this time renamed a "jobs bill."

This being a democracy, don't the Democrats see that clinging to this agenda will march them over a cliff? Don't they understand Massachusetts?

Well, they understand it through a prism of two cherished axioms: (1) The people are stupid and (2) Republicans are bad. Result? The dim, led by the malicious, vote incorrectly.

Liberal expressions of disdain for the intelligence and emotional maturity of the electorate have been, post-Massachusetts, remarkably unguarded. New York Times columnist Charles Blow chided Obama for not understanding the necessity of speaking "in the plain words of plain folks," because the people are "suspicious of complexity." Counseled Blow: "The next time he gives a speech, someone should tap him on the ankle and say, 'Mr. President, we're down here.'"(continued)

"I am not an ideologue"..."I am not a Socialist",..."I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States,... so help me God."

How can we tell when Obama is lying?...his lips are moving.

We little people may not get fawned over 24/7, but we do recognize a few important words. This one believes that Obama and his crowd are anathema to mainstream America.

The Kraut is always right on the money. He’s got this Obama clown pegged. For my money he’s a voice in the tea party movement and a pitchfork reformer when changes must be made. Keep up the good work Krauthammer! You are a special gift to the nation.

...like Navy Corpse-man.

Now, now...don't pick on Obama's pronunciation ...he is probably just using negro dialect. We'll have to get Sen Reid to translate for us.

Regarding higher education, I think our youth should fight for those opportunities rather than receiving them as gifts.

Canadian born, he can’t. Make a very good advisor though.

From Wikpedia below.

Krauthammer was born on March 13, 1950 in New York City.[3][4] He was raised in Montreal, Canada where he attended Herzliah High School and McGill University and obtained an honors degree in political science and economics in 1970. From 1970 to 1971, he was a Commonwealth Scholar in politics at Balliol College, Oxford. He later moved to the United States, where he attended Harvard Medical School. Suffering

Blinded by their/his radical reforming of America is causing them to throw their careers and their bodies into the fray. It is ALL about winning. Nothing else matters ... not the people of America, not the clearly seen destruction of jobs, increased jobless numbers, looming bankruptcy. NOTHING..

Anything goes, lying, bribing, covering up the facts, trampling our Constitution, ... . Full steam ahead ... NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS ... TO ATTEMPT TO STOP THEM. Like Rahm Immanuel (sp?) said ... 'never let a crisis go to waste'.

We must STOP THINKING OF THEM AS REASONABLE WELL INTENTIONED MISGUIDED PEOPLE. they ARE NOT MISGUIDED IN THEIR OWN MINDS. They ARE DEAD ON COURSE TO do 'whatever it takes'.

Know this is how it is.

God help us in our day, in Jesus name, amen.

A brilliant beat-down of liberal vanity and condescension by the Hammer.

The 0 gang must really hate the Kraut by now. Every week, in the pages of the WaPo no less, he administers another spanking.

Krauthammer's always the classy voice of reason, so I guess that leaves us out here in the public sector to be the irreverent ones by using words he wouldn't probably use, like - enema, which is what our government needs starting in November, and especially the White House in 2012!

Now that it’s settled that obama is really a dumb-dumb, not an intellectual, here’s what the “complexity” of the obamacare bills is really about:

1. The conceit (i.e., LIE) that cutting Medicare to finance the gargantuan new program will not hurt seniors’ care, but only cut “waste and fraud”.

2. All the back-room deals to special interests, bribes, and threats that are hidden in the language of the bills, which virtually no Senators or Representatives read anyway. (The same applies to the “stimulus” bill, which contains DeathCare provisions that MUST be repealed!!!!)

Don't forget the little pinchy thing he does with his fingers, like he's talking to a slow child.

Heck, if they really want to cut waste and fraud in Medicare, all they need to do is give me some law enforcement/prosecution authority, a little bit of access to Medicare records, and 10% 5% of all waste and fraud funds I save.

10 days in Miami, 3 in New York, and a quick spin through LA, and I'll be hiring Bill Gates to shine my shoes.
