These Are the Kinds of E-mails I Get About Our Newest Senator Brown (NO TOTUS Alert)
National Review ^ | 2/04/2010 | Kathryn Jean Lopez

Kathryn,

All politicians should be able to give the rapid, and to the point, answers that Scott Brown gave during his press conference this afternoon. Unfortunately, most politicians don't have a set of core beliefs that allow them to answer without thinking, or using a teleprompter. What a breath of fresh air.

TOTUS? Teleprompter Of The US Senate. Scott Brown doesn't need one!

The Kennedys: a package of bullsh*t. And the fools bought it FOR 57 YEARS!!!

The air is crisper and smells cleaner here. For the first time in 57 years (longer than the Castros have run Cuba, BTW) there are no Kennedys (or their placeholders) in the US Senate. 57 years.

May the force be with Senator Brown R-MA!

Yeah that's pretty much what it is: Senator Brown speaks from a set of core beliefs, take it or leave it.

I surely hope Washington doesn't beat that out of him, because this is first time in my adult life that I've ever been able to actually feel pretty good about a politician from my home state.

Zeddicus... would that be Zeddicus Zorander, the grand wizard on "Legend Of The Seeker?" Just curious.

Aye. I was a big fan of Terry Goodkind’s Sword of Truth books years before the TV series came out.

I just love the political messages in the original books. Of course, all this has been sanitized for TV. Too bad.

How sweet it is!

Just at a time we needed him most in the senate.

I see it as Divine Intervention.

Same thing with Sarah Palin, when your beliefs come from deep inside you don’t have to think about how to “nuance” your every word.

Scott Brown was awesome, but on the other hand, he was just being himself.

True... Craig Horner is convincing but I think guys really cotton to Bridget Regan. Tabrett Bethall takes getting used to!

Yep, now in Season 2. Look for "Legend of the Seeker". VERY loosely follows the novels. In fact, the story line is now practically unrecognizable. I still enjoy it though.

Added bonus: two of the most gorgeous young actresses on the small screen, hands down.

My apologies for taking this thread horribly OT, but I didn't start it! :-D

Yes. Its made by Sam Raimi of Hercules and Xena fame. Shot on location in New Zealand, "Legend Of The Seeker" is a loose adaptation of the Terry Goodkind novels. Its riveting television viewing.

This is sweeter than sugar! If Ted Kennedy didn’t have the law changed TWICE, the Rats would have held onto this seat.

You could say Camelot committed suicide. Ted Kennedy took a reverse mortgage out on his legacy. And when the time came, the balance was zero. He used it all up.

And because of that arrogance and greed, we have a Republican US Senator from MA!

THANK YOU GREAT GOD!!! THANK YOU!!!

Incredible, isn’t it?

I so wish Scott would submit his own “stimulus bill”: a simple 1-paragraph bill that cuts the Federal budget back across the board to what it was in 2002.

In 2002, the budget was $2 trillion, and if I recall correctly, we were getting along pretty OK back then. Cut the budget back to that level, and BAM! No more deficit.

Hey, I can dream, right?
