I'm guessing it's sabotage. This is too convenient. For 20 years I have owned Toyota's and remembered only one recall. To my 1996 Tacoma for leaf spings that would sag.

Probably not. Batteries are direct current (DC) sources unlike AC sources which can cause electromagnetic issues.

Could be just a computer problem, plain and simple...
