State Assemblyman Chuck DeVore pledged Thursday to keep his campaign "a demon-sheep-free zone."
The tongue-in-cheek announcement came in response to a bizarre web video released by former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina's campaign yesterday.
The video characterized former Rep. Tom Campbell, who recently joined the California Senate Republican primary, as a "FCINO" -- a fiscal conservative in name only....

That Fiorina ad was one of the weirdest things I’ve ever seen. It sure doesn’t help her.
I liked the ad. Being hearing impaired, the “visuals” explained the message quite well.
I’m not Carly fan, but I think precisely that kind of ad that get people’s attention especially in early stage of campaign like today. The fact that Chuck himself mentioned it, it shows that the ad sticks to people’s mind.
I haven’t seen the demon-sheep video, but it sounds like it may be sort of an encore to Howard Dean’s scream video. Eminently remixable by all sorts of creative pranksters, and spreading quickly to all corners of cyberspace. And eminently campaign-ending. Though since Carly doesn’t personally star in it, I suppose she could blame her campaign manager, fire the poor schmuck, and convince the voting sheeple that she’s really a normal human being after all.
