She believes immigrants must come to this country legally and abide by the laws of the land. I see nothing wrong with that.

No one could disagree with that. But what would Palin do about the ones who DON'T come legally and abide by the laws of the land? Would she arrest and deport them? Would she fine or jail the employers? Would she take away illegals' benefits and goodies so that they will self-deport? AFAIK, she has never stated that she would do anything of the sort, and so she probably wouldn't. Saying "They should come legally" sounds all nice and appeases people on both sides, but it's wishy-washy, fence-straddling politican talk. It means nothing.

SP is a pro life liberal.

Her stances on the Constitution, taxes, RKBA, property Rights, and abortion all pretty much make your statement there a complete and total lie.

Try again...

Which Republican would you consider conservative and/or a viable candidate in 2012?

Which ones have announced they are running? Conservative and Republicans are becoming two separate groups thanks to the OP(formerly the GOP) insisting on kicking conservatism to the curb over the years in order to expand the voter base.

OK Slick, what part of this do YOU disagree with: PALIN: Every part of bureaucracy needs to be streamlined, absolutely. And people do need to come in the right way. They cannot take advantage of what this country has to offer. The opportunities, the help that is here, they need to do this legally. Have YOU EVER been to an INS office and observed what goes on there. NO WONDER aliens(Legal) say F*CK it and just stay here anyway they can. FIRE MOST OF THESE TURDS and you MAY rid ourselves of alot of these type of “problems”.

I agree.

One problems with our legal immigration policy is that too many of them today are not building this country - instead they are tearing it down. Too many are on welfare, forming gangs, raping (such as the Somalis), refusing to learn English, forming terrorist cells, committing honor killings, taking jobs from Americans.

I read somewhere that now there is a proposal to bring in more who are HIV positive. We need stricter criteria as to how are admitted. None of them should get welfare until they are citizens. And no selling or giving citizenship as perks.

>> If you highlighted the red in Palin’s discussion, you’re taking her words out of context. Palin is quite clear, and draws a distinction between LEGAL and ILLEGAL immigration. <<

I took them out of context by publishing them in the exact context they were in. Hmmm... She draws the same distinction that McCain, Graham, Pelosi, Bush, Kennedy and Reid drew. That’s why I’m saying we should find out her position on amnesty, by whatever name McCain, Graham, Pelosi and Reid call it.

“IMO, there should be a 2 -4 year ban on ANY IMMIGRATION INTO THE US, due to our present economic situation. Id like to see a candidate that had the balls to support that.”

That would certainly make sense. If there are people collecting unemployment benefits, they should be directed to any job that they can easily take. Even if it’s picking beans.

I think there should just be a rule that any immigrant must be self-supporting & should not be eligible for any welfare benefits of any kind for any family member. If they can’t make it here on their own, they should go home.

I would suggest waiting for further clarification before dumping her.

As someone mentioned in a post above, Palin’s honesty is quite rare in a politician and is by itself enough to elevate her above most others.

At this point there’s no evidence to suggest Palin’s immigration policy is anything like that of McCain or Gramnesty.

Personally I believe they’re using immigration to further destroy America. When people say “I have no problem with legal immigration”. All the politicians have to do then is change the laws and they’re legal. I think we need a moratorium on immigration, at least until the economy picks up. But what do I know, I’ve only been out of work for 18 months.

McAmnesty? Really?
I am all for immigrants coming to this country Legally and willingly. I am against people who come illegally and slyly.

Palin and Beck are for people who want to come to this country through all the proper channels and be contributing and successful citizens.

Amnesty is what government "gives" the illegal aliens who crossed our border in the dead of night.
Probably, unless you are American Indian, your ancestors were immigrants, and I again assume they came here legally.

That is the difference.

Palin is correct in her views/opinions of immigration. Matter of fact, she is correct on all the issues. She errs when she went back on her word to propagate conservative principles by enthusiastically supporting the re-election of John McCain, especially when she damn well knew JD Hayworth would challenge him.

I just made it! The fact that she endorses a candidate who supports amnesty for illegal aliens among many other issues also supported by socialists makes the case!

Thank you for proving my point Palin followers are so blinded they can't see the forest for the trees.

You proved nothing.

Out of loyalty she is supporting someone who brought her to the dance, right or wrong.

It says nothing about her own positions EXCEPT in your tortured, illogical mind.

She has very clearly discussed her positions on the issues, many of them diverge from John McCain's positions.

You're painting with a way too broad of a brush and you know it!

Well it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on. But at this point, I haven’t seen anything indicating she is for legalizing those that are here illegally. Not to say I didn’t miss something.

I would feel better if someone would address ‘deporting’ the illegals and starting from scratch.

Put it this way....

We're likely looking at a field of Gingrich, Pawlenty, Romney, Huckabee and Palin.

Whom would be your choice from these or whom would you consider the best conservative choice?
