AUSTIN Former Houston Mayor Bill White may be trailing all three Republican candidates for governor in a new survey, but a top Democratic consultant said it shows him as well-positioned to start the general election.
The latest survey by the political newsletter Rasmussen Reports found White trailing Gov. Rick Perry 48 percent to 39 percent; U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, 49 percent to 36 percent; and activist Debra Medina, 41 percent to 38 percent.
The survey of 1,000 likely Texas voters was conducted Monday.
Democratic consultant Ed Martin said the poll results are good for White because he is not known very well outside of Houston, where he served as mayor from 2003 through 2009.
Martin noted Hutchison and Perry both were first elected to statewide offices in 1990.

GO Medina!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You got it pissant........DEBRA MEDINA: A True Conservative for Texas.
I don’t trust Ted Kennedy’s girlfriend; Kay Bailey Hutchison.
Guess you know we have a wealthy Muslim running for Governor of Texas on the Democrat Ticket. I think his name is Farouk Shamir. He is spending $10 million of his own money to get elected.
City of Houston is Bankrupt

Was this due to White’s “good leadership”?

“Democratic consultant Ed Martin said the poll results are good for White “
No it’s not.
White is losing even to Medina. How can that be good for White?
I thought you were going to say Perry
Medina is about as qualified to be Governor as zero was to be President.....want to re-visit how that is working out!
She’s a Libertarian running on the Republican ticket. She is supported by the Ron Paul worship crowd and she herself has acted in the Ron Paul worship capacity.
She has demonstrated a lack of knowledge about Texas law and current ballot initiatives.
