Then you don't understand a large group of Freepers, because i could swear i saw an entire thread on kotex/tampon jokes the day this came out! LOL!

There was, and I think another poster was on to something when he said he thought there was an organized “astroturf” campaign against the device. Microsoft, for instance, would like nothing better than to see Apple fail at something - it hasn’t done that in quite a while. ;-)

Regardless, I think the iPad will be a success in the longer term. At first people said Apple wouldn’t succeed with the iPod, it was “just another music player”. Then it was the iPhone - “Apple doesn’t know anything about the mobile phone business”. The iPad looks to me to be a killer device for reading, watching movies, and playing games. That’s a nice, big sweet spot. You can bet the next version will address some of the complaints folks have with this first effort...but I’m betting the name won’t change.
