Since January 17, 2010 Yellowstone has had the second largest swarm ever recorded. The swarms have been steady at about 10 miles in depth and they have subsided a few days ago.
In the past two days the depth has raised up to around 7 miles and in the past couple hours quakes vastly increased.

Remember this doesnt mean we will see an eruption and it most likely means a normal volcano. It is very unlikely we will see a caldera eruption.
But these changes are significant and cannot be over looked
Some history:
Since the most recent giant caldera-forming eruption, 640,000 years ago, approximately 80 relatively nonexplosive eruptions have occurred. Of these eruptions, at least 27 were rhyolite lava flows in the caldera, 13 were rhyolite lava flows outside the caldera and 40 were basalt vents outside the caldera. Some of the eruptions were approximately the size of the devastating 1991 Pinatubo eruption in the Philippines, and several were much larger. The most recent volcanic eruption at Yellowstone, a lava flow on the Pitchstone Plateau, occurred 70,000 years ago.
DUM DE DUM DUM
DUM DE DUM DUM
DUM DE DUM DUM DUM! [Dragnet theme]
First, there’s a queen bee . . .
and then . . .
naw . . . .
funnin ya.
. . . it’s a collection of quakes closely spaced in time and location . . . IIRC.
At any rate, the signature for it was definitely different that the previous three aftershocks from the main quake there in January.
Interesting stuff!
A few years ago, I recall looking at a series of quakes from . . . Long Valley etc. in California in an arc up through Nevada toward Yellowstone.
I think there was some argument about whether such could be related, or not.
Seemed obvious to me, an ignorant layman, given the timing, sequencing etc.
Do you know of any geologist connecting such things?
Just realized the beginning of your screen name was NOT wino . . . LOL.
I think your observation about the CA quakes stopping is an extremely fascinating one.
I’m convinced there are such relationships.
I’m just an ignorant layman.
How many geologists are starting to connect such dots?
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsus/Quakes/nc71362405.php
Now that the are sure that it was indeed a earthquake, my thoughts on the unsureness of the seismic waves holds true.
Yes...not wino?....lol
As for the geologists, they are very reluctant to draw pictures. I understand why they are bounded by what they can prove and we surely do not have the means nor the resources to empirically conclude anything.
However the ease of science also concludes one thing and that is physically for every action there is a reaction. I hang my hat on that...lol!
Interesting.
Thanks.
Of course they can’t label it as a HAARP artifact! LOL.
Much appreciate your checking. Thanks big.
Standing by.
When I get a chance I will re-read it again myself!

THANKS TONS.
WILL TRY TO GET THROUGH IT ALL.
BLESS YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS.
This is another good article to read about yellowstone. Still not what you are looking for though...lol
http://vulcan.wr.usgs.gov/Volcanoes/Yellowstone/Publications/OFR95-59/OFR95-59.html
and more on that hotspot, which I do believe has a sisterhood with Long Valley.

YOUR KINDNESS TOUCHES ME DEEPLY.
THX.
BTW, WHAT REGION ARE YOU IN?
The San Juan Mountains caldera is not that far away from me! LOL.
I am in the southeaster part of Pennsylvania, no threat from volcanic activity but from time to time the New Jersey fault line (ramapo) comes into town with a twist and a shout...lol
Course fault line on the east coast are a bit different...lol
WOW.
Fascinating pics.
Yeah, this is God’s country, for sure! LOL.
Throw in the Grand Canyon . . . for good measure.
Interestingly, some bloke predicts the Grand Canyon, including Hoover Dam, will be scrunched Northward . . . don’t know from how far South.
I have no idea if the person is flakey or what. Not a geologist.
Would sure take a huge amount of force to do that.
Guess it took a bit of force to move Cile 10 feet West the other day, too. And Buenas Aries sp? some inches West, too?
Interesting times, for sure.
I think in PENN, I’d be more concerned about the liberal hordes and the Russians clammering ashore. LOL.
Course we have AZTLAN eager to ‘regain’ control, too.
Clueless idiots.
Ahhhh welllll . . . we’re great 2nd Ammendment champions out here.
Thx for your kind reply.
Making it through the other docs slowly.
Thx.
It’s a tremendous blessing having someone of your skills and training not just dismiss my funny notions out of hand.
This time off the coast of Oregon and much closer to the Cascadia Subvergence Zone that I worry about.

The USGS is taking their time in listing these, not sure why.
Anyways interesting at least, payload of attention at best.
Do you have any connections at the USGS offices?
I’m not at all convinced that such folks are rigorously duty bound to avoid jiggering the figures on orders from higher ups.
Mostly I suspect they are just being extra careful in the face of maybe some confusing data.
Could get interesting fast in that area, for sure.
As for my training, nah, I self made no nothing but have had a insatiable hunger for the in’s and out’s of just about anything God and dream up and throw at us...lol!
My true forte is hurricanes, that is to which I have trained myself the best, followed by volcanic activity then tornadic. However, seismic and tectonic is certainly catching up!...lol
Welll, you are light years ahead of me on such stuff.
And that’s plenty good enough for me.
