At any rate, the signature for it was definitely different that the previous three aftershocks from the main quake there in January.

A few years ago, I recall looking at a series of quakes from . . . Long Valley etc. in California in an arc up through Nevada toward Yellowstone.

I think there was some argument about whether such could be related, or not.

Seemed obvious to me, an ignorant layman, given the timing, sequencing etc.

Do you know of any geologist connecting such things?

Now that the are sure that it was indeed a earthquake, my thoughts on the unsureness of the seismic waves holds true.

As for the geologists, they are very reluctant to draw pictures. I understand why they are bounded by what they can prove and we surely do not have the means nor the resources to empirically conclude anything.

However the ease of science also concludes one thing and that is physically for every action there is a reaction. I hang my hat on that...lol!

I am in the southeaster part of Pennsylvania, no threat from volcanic activity but from time to time the New Jersey fault line (ramapo) comes into town with a twist and a shout...lol

Course fault line on the east coast are a bit different...lol

Do you have any connections at the USGS offices?

I’m not at all convinced that such folks are rigorously duty bound to avoid jiggering the figures on orders from higher ups.

Mostly I suspect they are just being extra careful in the face of maybe some confusing data.
