I don’t vote for people who are unopposed and when I tried to put my completed ballot in the machine it was rejected. A “judge” explained to me that it was rejected because the machine wouldn’t take it if any of the spaces were left blank and asked if I wanted to leave it that way. I told him indeed I did. So he explained to me that he would have to over ride the machine, he acted as if he were aggravated with me for not filling the ballot out all the way. I told him to “over ride away mate”.

Wow, how annoying for him to be aggravated. When I voted, I did NOT vote for those that ran unopposed either (there were also two contests that I didn't know the people running, so I passed on voting for them as well) but mine went through the machine. So we must have different equipment here in DuPage County. Either that, or my votes didn't count, which would be really distressing. No one said anything to me about my ballot.

By law, the ballot reader is supposed to warn the voter about under-voting when it concerns an IL Constitutional office. I didn't vote for two candidates that were running unopposed, and, I didn't know anything about them. Because they were running for Constitutional offices in IL, the ballot reader asked (electronically) whether I approved or disapproved of the under-voting. I pushed the approved button and was on my way. I was the 20th voter to vote in my precinct and the time was 1045am. A 30% turnout is predicted.
