Where are you getting the statistics for the Governor’s race?

Looks like more results just came in:

Brady , Bill GOP 155,091 20%
Dillard , Kirk GOP 154,340 20%

Brady is now up 751 votes. He’s gained some.

Oddly, the votes came in with no additional precincts reporting. On the assumption that the hold up is because of an attempt to fix things on the D side, and that while doing so they might fix things on the R side as well, I would guess that shennanigans on the R side would favour whomever is seen as most defeatable rather than the candidate who is most favoured for what he might do (besides lose). And who would this favour?

Looks like the numbers are off of the Sun-Times page—just don’t understand how they have changed with no new precincts in.

Perhaps they reported some of the precinct returns incorrectly last night.

Is there an “official” site where we can follow the returns?

I assume most of the posts come from the Sun Times, I wonder where they get their info?

I really like Brady, shook his hand on numerous occasions. I am anxious to see the results!

In many states the Sec of State will have a page with results. I looked last night but couldn’t find one.

Excellent, maggie! The world gets to see what a nest of vipers Chicago/IL politicians are!

“Vernon Jarrett is a member of the Chicago Sun-Times editorial board”

Vernon Jarrett is also Valerie Jarrett’s father.

Mark Kirks’s was on FNC totally blasting Giannoulias
with a very raw, accusatory new commercial about him
.. his mob ties, lies, banking theft, etc. ... it’s gonna
be a long, filthy election season until November, and
you have to know any dirt on Kirk will be shown ad
nauseum .. ripe and smelly .. by -0’s buddy, Giannoulias.

The ad is from the National Republican Senatorial
Committee .. the ad:

His speech last night was so slick and polished,
could’ve been -0 or any veteran DC pol talking.
This is now a national election .. and I’ll bet
-0 will get involved in stumping at some point
for him.

Maker Of Hart, Schaffner & Marx Suits Is In Bankruptcy

*snip*

llinois Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias showed up for the rally with word of a letter he’s sent. He hopes it will keep the doors open. In it, he gives the Wells Fargo CEO an ultimatum.

“They have a choice,” he said. “They can either do the right thing and keep these jobs and make sure this business continues, or they can quit doing business with the state of Illinois.”

The likely Senate hopeful then went into the plant to check out and to try on the 40 Long dark gray suit Hartmarx styled for his hoops buddy, President Barack Obama.

There’s no word from Wells Fargo on whether it will give in. The banking giant has not returned our call.

But the bank seems to have, on paper, good reasons for not funneling more money into the business. When Hartmarx filed for bankruptcy in January, it acknowledged carrying assets of $100 million dollars, but half a billion dollars worth of debt.

With all due respect to Phil Crane, he really should’ve stepped down by 2002 and allowed an undamaged Conservative to succeed him, for whom would likely be the incumbent today instead of the execrable Bean.

Las year on the Chicago Crime Thread It seemed apparent that there are three groups that run the city: The mob, Progressives/communists, African American. SOmetime they align with another group to take control over the third.

Alex, with his ties to banking, bookies seems to lean toward Mob/Daley/Blanko. But now that Preckwinkle (progressive/ AA has taken over city counsel, BlankO is going to trial, I wonder if Daley’s days are numbered.....

IIRC the last time Alex ran for office over 80% of the campaign money came from family or others linked to the bank. Now that the bank is in trouble, who is going to pay the bill?

NEW REPORT: Brady up 509 votes after suburban Cook reported.

Left to count: 72 City of Chicago precincts and 1 St. Clair County precinct.

I guess having all inter-city precincts is good. The total votes for GOP candidates will probably total less than than the vote difference.

Hopefully Brady will stay ahead in St. Clair County. I don’t know the configuration of voters there.

I’m not positive, but that is East St. Louis. With just one precinct to go, I would have to assume it is one of the inner city one’s.

The rural vote in that area is not Democratic.

UGH. What takes some of the precincts so many hours to count their ballots?

I am very suspicious.

Fox News just showed Brady and said he’s ahead by 700 votes and looks good to win! Absentee ballots (early ballots).
