LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The city of Los Angeles is facing big budget problems, and now it seems jobs that were once exempt from looming layoffs may also be on the chopping block.

A Los Angeles City Council committee ordered analysts Monday to consider slashing police and fire department jobs, and the cuts will not stop there.

The L.A. City Council chambers were standing room only Monday as a budget and finance committee held a first hearing on layoffs and cutbacks in city services. It's grim.

Obama could transfer more money from the private sector to L.A. Budget problems. After that does not solve the problem then what?

Additional “stimulus” money required to bail out the unions.

Its an “investment” (in Obama’s political future).

“.. ordered analysts Monday to consider slashing police and fire department jobs.”

That’s always where they start. It’s basically a threat to the populace: “Hand over your money, or you’re on your own with all these thugs”.

The NEW ballad of Jed Clampett
Come and listen to a story ‘bout a man named Jed
Poor oil entrepreneur barely kept his family fed
Then one day he was working for some food,
And up through the crowd come a bumbling fool
(Arnold that is, RINO gold, more taxes please)

Well the first thing you know old Jed’s taxes are to much to bear,
Kin folk said Jed move away from there!
Said California is no place for you to be
So they loaded up the truck and they moved from Beverly
(go’n back to the Hills they are, fish’n holes, country and western stars)

Well now it’s time to say goodbye to Jed and all his kin
They would like to thank you folks for kindly dropping in
You’re all invited back again to their new locality
To have a heaping helping of their hospitality
(Redneck Hillbillies, is what the press call ‘em now,
Clingers of bibles and guns and to Obama no bow!
Nice folks Y’all come back now, ya hear?)

Just so long as those poor union members don’t have to do any thinking or suffer any hardship.

We’ve spent all of LA’s money.

Now we’ve spent all of Washington’s.

Next bailout, please! I guess it’s from the UN or something.

No matter. The world owes us a living!

"You are already closing 28 ambulances and fire companies every day in the city because of this budget crisis, and now there's talk about closing another 10 ambulances," said Pat McOsker, president, United Firefighters of Los Angeles City.

Per day? They must have a fire company on every block.

The LAPD wont like that. I see more of them here in L.A. giving out driving tickets.

This is what you get with a ditzy liberal city council and an utterly corrupt mayor, et al.

For example, one suggestion is to cut 100 positions from the City Attorney's office. OTH, no cuts to the mayor's staff, which has grown from 41 to 200 during Antonio's reign.

Recently, the City pledged to hire additional police officers. Okay, the cops haul in the criminals then who is going to prosecute the cases if the City Attorney's staff has been cut?

Listen to audio Here of Kevin James's radio show last night. He has all the facts and figures and history of this so-called "budget crisis."

Some of those ambulances provide free health care “in the hood” too.
