Have you seen this ad for Scott Brown?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nEoW-P81-0

After you look at the ad, can you truthfully tell me that Scott Brown - an obscure state senator from Wrenthem with a budget of less than 5K - somehow had the skill and the financing to make an add like this.

Remember, up until now his campaigns consisted of handouts made at Staples and a few yard signs.

Look at this book - - can you really say an uneducated lad from Upstate NY could have imagined all that is in it?

It may be news to you but all political ads are prepared by people who specialize in that field and not by the candidates. I worked 30 years in television and am quite familiar with how political advertising is handled.

From everything I've seen of that campaign, Romney was AWOL until the win was obvious.

My bone with you is that you label the words of those with whom you disagree as "hate".

That's a liberal technique...if you disagree with them you're spouting hate, racism, sexism, ignorance, intolerance, etc.

When you have to demonize the other side, you've already lost the argument.

I don't have anything against Romney except for the fact that he's an old-style politician and a member of the "elite" East Coast Republicans and he carries way too much baggage.

They are the same "Rockefeller Republicans" who were against Ronald Reagan (they gave us Gerald Ford over Reagan the first time and that gave Carter the presidency)...they quickly switched when the Gipper's popularity forced them to do so in 1979. They are only as conservative as the moment requires them to be.

Romney has proven to be one of that group, so his chances are very limited if he has any at all. He's only one or two degrees away from being *another John McCain.

* We didn't need the first one.

Depends on what he was smoking.

Your facts are wrong.

Romney was there at the beginning. Scott Brown thanked him for holding the first fundraiser.

Re the ads, I’m familiar with that business too and spots like that are not cheap.

Re the hate, I’ve never seen such hate here on FR before.

I don't "hate" Romney. He seems like a friendly fellow and good family man. I do believe that his support for TARP disqualifies him from consideration. What is your view? Do you believe Romney was right to support TARP.

And your examples would be?

You made the hate accusation...let's see what you call hate.

I certainly do naot hate Romney. He can't help the fact that he's an East Coast elite, old style Rockefeller Republican.

I'm not worried about him getting anywhere as he's his own worst enemy. I'm content to watch him self-destruct (got plenty of popcorn).

I do know the liberals would love for him to be our candidate...same as they did with McCain until he got the nomination.

His close affiliates selected Ford over Reagan and thus gave us Carter in 1976. In this case a Romney nomination would give us four more years of Obama.

I've noticed a number of liberals coming to this forum to push for Romney, so they must have a reason for doing that.

That's so, in case of a loss, one can say...

"Depart from me; I never knew you."

I know!

Isn't it just TERRIBLE!?

The LDS Organization® prints Hundreds of Thousands of THIS yearly!

http://scriptures.lds.org/en/js_h/1/17#17

17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!
18 My object in going to inquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak, than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong)—and which I should join.
19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.”
20 He again forbade me to join with any of them; and many other things did he say unto me, which I cannot write at this time. When I came to myself again, I found myself lying on my back, looking up into heaven. When the light had departed, I had no strength; but soon recovering in some degree, I went home. And as I leaned up to the fireplace, mother inquired what the matter was. I replied, “Never mind, all is well—I am well enough off.” I then said to my mother,
“I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.”

The LDS headquarters; in the heart of a modern  US city, visited by THOUSANDS daily, has this placed in prominent view:

...which reiterates the charge that "they were all wrong; they teach for doctrines the commandments of men".

I am SO glad they don't HATE me though!!

OMGosh. In this thread, FReepers have been hearing
about how Mitt Romney CREATED Sen. Brown,
[who would be NOTHING without Romney] and
how billionaire Romney FINANCED his entire run.

Well, ooooopsie. Almost a week after this thread began
the following leaked by Bloomberg:
1) Generous billionaire Mitt gave Brown $4500
and that was from his slush fund of OP$ (other peoples money).

2) McCain actually gave more. ROTFLOL.

“Romney (from his lost presidential run still)had $1.1 million left in the bank.
He contributed $4,500 [ed. That is 0.4% ] to Republican Scott Brown,
who was elected US senator from Massachusetts on Jan. 19.
McCain topped Romney’s donation to Brown’s campaign,
chipping in $5,000 from his PAC,
according to the commission. -- BLOOMBERG NEWS”
