How did this dingbat Ariana Huffington get to be a “pundit”? Who is she, where is she from?

I don't remember... is she Hungarian? All I know is she used to be a Republican, sort of, and now she's a flaming loud-mouth liberal with a very successful liberal forum (Huffington Post, aka HuffPo).
