They're at least as far north as the Farallon Islands off of San Francisco. Drop a glow in the dark jig to 200 feet and start reeling. You'll have dozens of them chasing the jig up to 20 feet and then all your shipmates can drop their jigs. The jigs are nasty, but those damn squid are worse.

I’ve had it, and it's ok, but I wouldn't waste a good day fishing for it. I'd rather have a nice perch of walleye. ;~))
But fish’n is fun no matter what. It is a damn good excuse to do nothing and drink beer while you are doing it.

The Main Question in my mind would be why and where from if its not a normal occurence !Do I have to say it? This has been reported the last several years, and I assume it's a genuine change.
