U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- The Air Force Academy chapel will add a worship area for followers of Earth-centered religions during a dedication ceremony, which is tentatively scheduled to be held at the circle March 10.

The circle, located atop the hill overlooking the Cadet Chapel and Visitor Center, will be the latest addition to a collection of worship areas that includes Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim and Buddhist sacred spaces.

"That's an odd reaction, given that this story is about the Academy expanding access to worship facilities. "

The point is, they are against religion and yet we have to go to great lengths to accomodate them. If they are against religion, or normal religion, they should just stay home.

You still probably don't get it, and I don't think I do either. End of thread.

Do you really want to give the federal government the power to decide which religions are "normal"?

Listen, GL of Secotr 2814...whoever the F*** you are, I can't give the Federal Government any power at all, therefore your question is a moot point.

That was my post and my opinion as to what a "normal" religion is...TO ME. Had nothing to do with you or the Federal Government.

Now, I ended the post by making a "stepping aside" gesture, letting you win, as I quickly assumed I was dealing with a fanatic to came to FR about the time obama was elected...so I'm guessing troll.

I said I was ending the thread, but I'm also guessing your reading ability is right up there with your ability to pick a president.

Now, if you want to waste your time and bandwidth you can continue your silly crusade to try and pull me further into this argument, but you will not receive any further replies or comments from me.

Enjoy your life at DU.

“Until the Army withdraws all official support and approval from witchcraft, no Christian should enlist or reenlist in the Army, and Christian parents should not allow their children to join the Army,” said Paul M. Weyrich, president of the Free Congress Association.

IMO Weyrich is an idiot..or an Operative for the Other side (wouldn’t suprise me a bit)... you do not run from this sort of fight you fight it.

The US Military is a Christian Outfit.. everybody in the world knows that (just asked Abdul).. Plenty of Jews, Seiks and Buddists.. Whorshippers of Wootan.... Officers and in the Ranks..all get along just fine.

How is it our enemies know US better than our “Leaders”?

A few Athiests and Satanists...make a lot of noise. Get lot’s of Press.. They have always been there..
Doesn’t mean diddly if they cause a real problem they cause it for themselves.

I knew a burned out Retread Lt who during Catholic Mass in the field used to hold Services nearby for the First Church or the Holy M60A3 RISE.. Non Catholics would gather around and flub Gregorian Chants while they would bow to the Great M60.. “This is a Death Dealing Machine” Ommmmm They would Pray to the “Great God of War” for the accuracy of their 105mm Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot.

The Priest when he finnished saving the good fellas would shake his head and laugh.. knowing full well the others were just bad Christians messing with him but Christians non-the-less.

Just see to it all serve a stint in Combat Arms and the feather merchants will bail.

Everybody Fights..Everybody does a stint in Supply/Support as a break...then switch back to Combat Arms... Make that change and watch things get better fast.

Watching the Athiest have his inevitable “Come to Jesus” moment. Well worth the effort..

You forgot the thirteen conservative religious groups. They must be idiots working for the Other side, too. Right?

The US Military is a Christian Outfit

That's illegal now days - and the point of posting the article. The times, they are a-changin'.

Just imagine the great American military run by homosexuals, etc. (just like Hitler's SS).

Yes, they have a right to practice any religion or none, but at what point does this become absurd?

It is difficult to accept that anyone would worship inanimate objects in the 21st century. I can understand primitive people believing that the earth has a spirit and one can ward off bad juju by appeasing the rocks and trees, but at a supposedly modern and scientific institution of higher learning? This is beyond bizarre.

As a Christian, I am dismayed by so many people following a path to destruction.

Listen, GL of Secotr 2814...whoever the F*** you are,

Dude. Chill.

I can't give the Federal Government any power at all, therefore your question is a moot point.

You said "If they are against religion, or normal religion, they should just stay home." You don't have the power to make "them" stay home, so by your logic your original point is moot.

Given the context of the original article, my point was that we shouldn't allow the federal government to define which religions are "normal". And yes, you and I do have that power, through the collective power of the ballot box.

That was my post and my opinion as to what a "normal" religion is...TO ME. Had nothing to do with you or the Federal Government.

Did you even read the original article? The Air Force Academy is part of the federal government. In context it's wholly relevant.

Now, I ended the post by making a "stepping aside" gesture, letting you win, as I quickly assumed I was dealing with a fanatic

Your assumptions are, um, interesting, to say the least. On what basis would you assume that I'm a fanatic?

to came to FR about the time obama was elected...so I'm guessing troll.

I wouldn't advise getting into the business of prognostication...your guesses aren't very good.

I said I was ending the thread,

Aren't you aware that this is a public forum? It's not as if this was a private conversation. These posts are as much for the audience as the one to which one responds, perhaps more.

I'm surprised that it would take a newbie like me to point that out to a veteran like you.

but I'm also guessing your reading ability is right up there with your ability to pick a president.

I've voted a straight Republican ticket for the last 30 years. I'm sorry that bothers you.

Now, if you want to waste your time and bandwidth you can continue your silly crusade to try and pull me further into this argument, but you will not receive any further replies or comments from me.

Didn't you say you were ending the thread in your last post? And yet...here you are!

BTW, "End of thread"? Who are you trying to be, the MCP?

Enjoy your life at DU.

You think someone who wants to keep the government out of the business of judging the relative worth of religions belongs over there rather than here? What an odd thing to assert...well, it takes all kinds, I guess.

Please remember the people who publish news and information as a part of the MSM have a big anti-American anti-Christian agenda. They put stuff out with the deliberate attempt to inflame and cause controversy. Make a mountain out of a molehill.

It is not “illegal” to be a Christian in the US Military..and it will not be.

The strategy behind the few folks demanding their right to be Wiccans, Rastafarians, Hari Krishnas. Kwansans whatever is political..

Look for the hand of the ACLU.. JADL..CAIR,, You will see similar Leftist/Communist/Socialist/Jihadist Anti-American organizations behind this crap..

Do I really think Weyrich and the other Christian Leaders supporting a boycott are idiots?

In this case Absolutely.... This is numbers game and taking troops, Christian troops from the fight is moronic at best.

You’re absolutely right the current Administration wants to drive out the Christian influence in the US Military.
As did the Russians.. Pretty sure the Muslims would like the Christian Influence gone aren’t you?
(Salidin was not pleased with the Knights Templars/ Crusaders much either..) I am pretty sure he would have been pleased if the Catholic Church would have told their members not to join during the previous fight between Christanity and Islam..

Are you starting to understand?

To begin with the US Military would fall apart without the glue which holds it together.. that is Christanity, Christian Soldiers and the Christian-Judeo ethic which drives our way of war.

Gee could that be the reason for the attacks on Christianity? (Hint).... YES!!!

Christian Soldiers in the main are not Monks, Priests or necessary “Good Christians” as you are /understand a Good Christian to be. They are nonetheless, believers in the Christ and that is the bond which makes our Military so darn strong.

The common bond among our troops is Christianity and the Judeo-Christian ethic is simply an integral part of our Military culture.. When boots join they begin the journey into that culture.

That is what is being attacked here, and we need more not less Young Stout Hearted Christian Men to answer the Challenge and Continue to Serve. To Learn what it is to be a Soldier of the West.

Idiots like Weyrich would take our strength rather than support the fight to retain the proper position of Christianity within the US Military.

Like I asked before ...

Weyrich and those who join him in their latest project... are they idiots or operatives?

Let’s be generous shall we? Let’s stick to idiots.

Some others would be less generous and call them

“Useful Fools”
