Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the nation will deliver a harsh blow to the "global arrogance" on this year's anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
"The Islamic Revolution opened a window to liberty for the human race, which was trapped in the dead ends of materialism," Ahmadinejad said during a cabinet meeting on Sunday.
"If the Islamic Revolution had not occurred, liberalism and Marxism would have crushed all human dignity in their power-seeking and money-grubbing claws. Nothing would have remained of human and spiritual principles," he added.
Ahmadinejad said that in the three decades of its history, the Islamic Revolution had inspired some great developments in the world.
The Iranian president made the remarks as the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution approaches.
Iranians are expected to pour into the streets on February 11 to celebrate the occasion in public rallies across the country, as they have done annually over the past three decades.
Our recent reality is stranger/scarier than fiction.<<<
Twenty years ago, the news of today, would be called a conspiracy or plain crazy talking.
Today we hear it every hour as fact.
This is a big event in Shia and a mourning and self-flagellation with chains mindset.
How apt to destroy Saudi Arabian oil fields for the Sunnis killing the son of Imam Ali, the founder of the Shia Moslem sect.<<<<
Yes, it adds up, a way of making sure we bleed too and a hit at the finance if they hit the oil fields.
The feeling of glory and power for them would be great indeed.
I can handle being wrong, and hope that I am, but have noticed over the years that the jihadi give a date and the actual strike is 2 days before or after the date given.
Thats a lot to chew on...Where did you get the info on Israel massing troops for a push, or defense from Leb or Syria??? Those goobs cant tie their shoes now...Sure, they could lob a bunch of dumb-dumbs over the border, but thats about it...<<<
I did not see that anyone had answered your question, I had the information a week or more ago, in newsletters that did not post well, so went to google and this should give an idea of how involved it is.

You illude to a very good point...
You can have a rocket with a payload and range you want...
You can also have a warhead that will work and pop when you need it to...
Integrating the two systems, and combining that with a guidance system is a totally different animal...Its ALL got to work to a known degree of confidence...
And I believe you’ll agree with that that may be what is in question...
But then again I figured the best way Iran was ever going to make a statement was toput a functioning bomb in a truck drive it across the border, into the heart of Baghdad and pull the trigger...
Heck for the longest time they were smuggling people and weapons into Iraq to fuel the insurgency, an we could stop it much until we surged on them...
One truck with a special package could have been done with relative ease...
And the result would have been the entire world coming unglued...
It’s only going to take one...
Got your references...Thanks...
By whom? Barrack Huissen Obama?????
Bump.
We can only guess... and not supposing it will be good.
Got your references...Thanks...<<<
You are welcome, hope they were what you needed.
Well, it is a benefit to everyone who chooses to dive a little deeper into the rabbit hole...
The discussion we are having is really very similar to the ones that are conducted in think-tanks and other intelligence gathering and analysis organizations...
Everyone in the process gets their crack at it, and no matter how good or bad the discussion or info is, at the end of the day, everyone is on the same page...
There are a ton of smart people that participate here, and it is no surprise at how correct the conclusions are...
We should develop our own nuclear power capabilities for our energy needs and let the Arabs and the Iranians have it out with each other. It would be fun to see how long it takes the Mahdi to climb out of his well.

You are correct and it is what keeps us coming back to Free Republic.
I couldn’t begin to list the people that I have learned from over the years.
Post 430, thanks for the great info.

Wel-l-l-l, maybe we oughta be a bit more watchful from now on.
I kinda lean toward the idea of them picking up a useable device from the Ukraine. Lord knows there are enough U.S. hating Muslims there that it could be done. I doubt their security is as good as ours and ours sucks! Just offhand, if I lived in Tel Aviv, I think I’d plan a trip somewhere else next week.
Some seem to think they (meaning the Iranians and the North Koreans) don’t have the expertise and technology to put a package on target. I keep thinking of the times I’ve led an adversary to think I “couldn’t” do something and then surprised him. What if those “failures” that we talk about with respect to their rocket launches, really weren’t total failures? What if they were actually quite successful in that they led us into a dangerous complacency?
I don’t believe we can trust any society whose basic religious text assures them that it’s alright to lie to infidels. After all, I’m an infidel. At least I am to them.
I think the one thing I like best about Free Republic is the wide range of knowledgeable comment made on subjects like this. Hiding behind these screennames are a lot of very smart people who think critically and incisively. Of course there are always a few trolls that muddy the waters a bit but we all know how to handle them.
As you said, this forum has gone through all scenarios many time already. Why then are our “leaders” so surprised when something comes up that isn’t presented in a neat box with a string around it?
Tom Clancy came up with the “airplane bomb” idea years before 9/11 yet our security gurus were completely blindsided by a bunch of guys with box-cutters. Perhaps our Homeland Security people need to start reading this forum.
Stay safe, my friend. And the same to all of you who read this.
