It’s not part of conservatism to lump people into big groups and judge them collectively. There are individuals who are poor because they had the bad luck to be born into backward, corrupt countries, as were the ancestors of many Americans. Many people in the Third World work harder than many Americans. Microfinance is capitalism, not welfare, and the recipients are not ghetto bums.
The USA developed from a “backward nation” to a global powerhouse quite well without these kinds of handouts. The ONLY thing “poor” countries is a healthy dose of free-market economics and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Poor countries are those that made poor choices — such s the choice to pursue the path of socialism and corruption over liberty and God.
