Even if those numbers are accurate...just what happens to those jobs when the money runs out and the economy is still in the tank?

Hsnt it been worked out that these few jobs being stimulated are costing a couple of hundred thousand apiece?

How is that helping?

This is laughable and predictable. It shows people what lengths the low-life media whores will go to in order to build up the incompetent fool they helped put into office. Only problem is facts get in the way with so many people suffering.

To further expand on your point, how many of those jobs are already complete. The last time they tried this little game, it turned out that some people only had a job for a day or week but they were still counted as though they were permanent jobs.

It comes out to $96,000 per person. If that money would have gone back to the private sector in tax cuts or tax refunds then for every job that the feds funded for one project a private sector company could have created 2 jobs for at least a year.

Yup. As long as the unemployment number remains where it is the White House and MSM can make all the claims they want and it won't matter. It's like a coach claiming a team is improving even though they haven't won a game all year.

What jobs were saved? Government jobs at various levels - until the money runs out. A few construction jobs repairing infrastructure - but what happens when the jobs are complete?
I haven’t heard of jobs being saved/created that actually produce a product or contribute to GNP.

“It does not tally jobs created indirectly through companies buying supplies for stimulus projects, people spending their tax cuts, increased unemployment benefits and the like.”
Spending my tax cut? Spending increased unemployment benefits? Not like unemployment benefits pay for a few nights out a month. I know my taxes were not cut. This article is a real reach. Talk about grasping at straws.

Another trick I’ve personally seen them try is to fund a tiny fraction of a project and yet claim credit for all the jobs on the entire thing.

Yes. They can hire or not fire stuffing people into jobs at the federal level which is a bloated anchor around the economy as it is but creating productive jobs that add to GDP,that spin off more jobs, that stir demand seem far beyond the Kenyans abilities.

Taxpayer funded jobs are a net loss no matter how you look at it. There’s just no way around it unless those employed by the taxpayer are paying more in taxes than they earn.

We have to remember that his main concern is not our country, but how will the headlines spin.

CNN is a White House PR firm. Don’t believe anything you see on it.

And that’s just it. Most of the jobs “saved” are public sector jobs. I’d love to see the breakdown public to private. Even private sector jobs created tend to be temporary like sub contracted transportation and construction projects. My take is that if they are “giving stimulus” monies to either state or local governments they are counting all of the workers these two entities employ and then saying that as a result of their actions they were “saved.” They are betting that eventually the economy will improve enough before the “stimulus” runs out to provide the additional tax revenues needed to sustain this employment. If they’re wrong, watch out.

The same with Obozo’s plan for student loans. He wants to forgive the debt after 10 years and give the student tax breaks if he or she choses a job in “public service”.

Its like some kind of magical fantasy land were we fart pixie dust that powers windmills.
