Never one to shy away from voicing his opinion, actor Mel Gibson has declared that he doesn't believe President Obama has the means necessary to "fix" the United States.
[Obama] is a man with an impossible task on his hands," Gibson told Pop Tarts at the Hollywood premiere of his latest drama thriller "Edge of Darkness" on Tuesday night. "He got left a mess and I wish him all the best but I dont think hes going to fix it in five minutes and probably not in his entire tenure."
Gibson's thoughts come as no surprise, as his new film explores the dark side of politics. He stars as homicide detective Thomas Craven, who is embroiled in an investigation into the murder of his activist daughter. In the process, Craven uncovers a corporate cover-up and government collusion that attracts an agent tasked with cleaning up the evidence.
"It picks the scab off the governmental, corporate paranoia - the under the table workings that happen," Gibson explained. "I think we've lost our naiveté, I dont think we have any pretension that what most of our leaders are doing is leading us to the slaughterhouse."

“He is a Natural Born American Citizen. Isn’t that a bit more?”
Let me see....American vs Australian vs American living in Australian ENTERTAINER....nope, I don’t see any difference. He remains an entertainer...period. His birth country and his country of residence have NOTHING to do with his choice in occupation.
Your Americaphobic views won’t ingratiate you to this forum that’s for sure.
He is a little more of course, as a director/producer/writer he created the greatest religious film ever made.
As an actor he won the gratification of our nation’s vets, especially the Vietnam vets.
His film Braveheart was a huge boost for the freedom movement, I actually used that film to change the mind of an Irish leftist.
The man is not exactly a demon, it is hard to believe that “Passion of the Christ” could have such a negative effect on his life as it did, while “The Last Temptation of Christ” only endeared Scorsese to liberals even more.
PalinFan4Ever isn’t a real poster, that is clearly a fake account.
“Gibson apparently believes the lie that Bush is responsible for what happened to the economy.”
Mel’s father Hutton believes the jews brought down the towers.
Maybe that means they also believe Bush was in kahoots with the jews? who knows.
Mel always spoke out against the Iraq war and made fun of Bush when no weapons of mass destruction were found.
He can run his lips all he wants.
Free speech and all that.
But I certainly don’t have to give his opinion any weight just because he’s a good actor and made some nice movies.
And you are a troll with a fake account, probably part of what might be multiple accounts on your part.
JMO but I believe you are on the wrong forum. Talk like that does not belong here!
Go to HELL, troll
Thank you :)
My pleasure :)
Recall that it was Bush’s people who pushed the first bailout bill on us. Also recall that GW was NOT taking questions; he would peek out from the WH, make an announcement and rush back inside. He did not lead well at that time.
That was too easy. Most trolls need to be finessed a little before the blow up. I guess his suicide vest had a hair trigger. ;^)
If I had a dollar for every stupid thing I said when I was drink, I’d have more money than Gibson.
Are you as clean as the driven show? Everybody screws up one time or another.
