UN climate change panel based claims on student dissertation and magazine article The United Nations' expert panel on climate change based claims about ice disappearing from the world's mountain tops on a student's dissertation and an article in a mountaineering magazine.

The revelation will cause fresh embarrassment for the The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which had to issue a humiliating apology earlier this month over inaccurate statements about global warming.

I'm uncertain if this is a restricted source so I'm excerpting it. I didn't find this already posted but found it interesting that the "expert" studies underlying the UN claims turn out to be a magazine and some student's dissertation.

The state of California continues to inform us that Greenland has melted down to a nub of it’s once magnificent self: See ~ http://www.climatechange.ca.gov/background/images/greenland_surface_melt.gif

I still worry about those cute polar bears cubs, alone on those melting ice floes, unable to get home for cookies and cocoa and a nice bedtime story with their mommies and daddies.

I check those pictures out lest I have any doubts that the climatologists have been running a scam on everybody.

Then there's the CO2 station in Hawaii at the top of a mountain.

It's supposed to be checking out the "pristine air" blowing in from the Pacific (from downtown Quandung I think), and just 50 yards away other scientists are measuring "trace gases" that are rising up from the core of the world's largest volcano!

Just gimme' me some tree rings from semi-fossil (meaning "they're dead Jim") trees and I'll predict anything you want ~ or, maybe some pigs knuckles, or better yet, little cubes cut from ivory with number holes on the sides, or the I-ching, or a slot machine in Las Vegas.

They're all as good as what the most highly paid climatologists in the world have on hand.

Peer-reviewed, of course?

Well, they could argue that the magazine article is reviewed by everyone who subscribes to the mag. That's about as professional and scientific as the UN gets anyway.

Recent revelations have made it quite clear that the IPCC is not a scientific body. It is nothing more than a partisan political entity, bent on imposing its radical economic and social schemes on the world. Hitler convinced the Germans that the Jews were evil in order to justify their extermination. The IPCC has been using similar lies and propaganda to convince the world to destroy America, capitalism, and the free market.

These people deserve the same fate as the National Democratic Socialist Workers Party.

"I'm uncertain if this is a restricted source so I'm excerpting it."

Just be sure to include the source URL. The forum's posting program recognizes each source URL so that it is posted appropriately: free full text, excerpted or blocked completely.

It can be revealed that the IPCC report made use of 16 non-peer reviewed WWF reports.

--snip--

Roger Sedjo, a senior research fellow at the US research organisation Resources for the Future who also contributed to the IPCC's latest report, added: "The IPCC is, unfortunately, a highly political organisation with most of the secretariat bordering on climate advocacy.

"It needs to develop a more balanced and indeed scientifically sceptical behaviour pattern. The organisation tend to select the most negative studies ignoring more positive alternatives."
