PHOENIX (AP) - A recent statewide survey of Arizona voters found U.S. Sen. John McCain with his lowest favorable job rating in 16 years but that he still does fairly well among registered Republicans.
The Phoenix-based Behavior Research Center said Thursday that McCain had a favorable rating of 41 percent among voters statewide, vs. 21 percent unfavorable.
That's his lowest favorable rating since 38 percent in 1994, when he was still shaking off effects of the Keating Five scandal.

We havent even started destroying him yet.
41 percent approval is NOT good. Hayworth can beat this bozo.
I know—there needs to be a few “Everything you don’t know about John McCain” websites started.
No surprise to anyone who knows anything about AZ. McCain couldn’t even win 50% of the vote in the 2008 AZ Presidential primary, the only top tier candidate of either party who failed to win his/her home state with 50% or more of the vote. McCain is in trouble.
For me it’s all about one word, ‘amnesty’.
True. An incumbent less than 50% is at serious risk, although his relatively favorable rating among Republicans may help him in the primaries.
oh come on, there were 20 something candidates on az primary ballot that year
This idiot is from one of the Border States and his state is overrun with welfare Mexicans to the point of trying to catch up to California. IF those people in that state are so stupid as to put and amnesty promoter back in office, they deserve to go broke with him. Hey Arizonans, are you really that stupid?
Same here.
Who are the idiot 41%? Those shiftless layabouts who wont work for $50 an hour?
Great news! LOL!
Keating Five, four dims and a rino.
Figures he would fit right in.
>> Hayworth can beat this bozo.
McCain is vulnerable, and I’d love to see him beaten... by the right candidate.
Is it Hayworth?
I’m troubled by the corruption allegations I’ve seen against Hayworth. Is there anything to them?
I don’t care if its a Democrat who beats him at this point. McCain needs to go!
I don’t want anyone claiming to be on my side who would try to legalize an invasion of his people.
I’d rather have someone attack me from the front...
McINSANE is like a vampire, this time he’s getting a wooden stake through the heart.
Bastard will have to be dragged kicking and screaming from DC
John McCain crippled the rights ability to get its message out and campaign effectively with his stupid “campaign finance reform” and as a result is directly responsible for the socialist majority in Congress and the muslim in the WH.
His “campaign finance reform” has put MILLIONS of people out of work and cost citizens billions of dollars in the stock market.
He wants to grant amnesty and citizenship to millions of illegal aliens, doesn’t support enhanced interrogation methods necessary to protect the nation, and is a supporter of the KLA, a muzzie terrorist organization.
The most dangerous man in America.
So what? I do "fairly well" among republicans myself, but no one I know has suggested that I run for the U.S. Senate...
This means only one thing. McCain will now veer sharply to the right. Watch him now try to embrace the conservative movement.
Hope people don’t fall for it.
Take Olympia and Lindsay with you on your way out, Juan.
