You guys are missing the point.

The correct answer is YES, I will stop giving money to the states for education. The Federal Government should not be in the education business and that is why I support eliminating the Department of Education and the elimination of failed programs like Head Start and No Child Left Behind. If you are going to balance the budget you have to get the Federal Government out of existing programs and stop inventing new ones. This may be the job of a one term President and a large number of one term Senators and Congressman but it will either be done by us or it will be done to us.

Bingo- You made the point I would have made! Same goes for the MORON-stream Media insisting tax cuts hurt the economy - like poor little George Stephanopolis. A true Conservative would nail him, but it never happens....maybe the worm is turning. Hope so.

Absolutely SPOT ON!
There is no need for a Federal Department of Education.
And I’m a teacher - albeit a non-union one.

The new Republican Contract should be a simple promise to pass no new legislation for the next four years ( as for me, it could be forever ) and to dismantle one program a day - at the minimum.
Other contract planks:
In session Tues-Wed-Thurs only - for one hour each day.
No taxpayer paid junkets.
Outlaw Political Correctness - pleeeeeeeez!

Couldn’t be simpler than that.
Lot of legislators might actually get bored and quit.
