Hey, I’ve been working hard to start thinking soundly (as a result of being guilty of way too many knee-jerk responses over “Pontiff says...” or similar anti-Catholic subversive garbage).

This liberal claptrap is just as common in the Protestant churches. You are just as likely to get a lecture on global warming or the evils of the capitalist system as you are on the salvation of your soul at some of the churches I've attended. And some churches wonder why the pews are often empty.

I'll second that. I've heard it from both Methodist and Presbyterian ministers. It's the same hypocrisy - we promote taking and spending your money at gunpoint to make us appear charitable Christians.

Hey guys, Obama is NOT “fixing” ANYTHING, so quit buying his bumperstickers!

His plan only restricts access to real health care, while pretending to expand health coverage. An insurance card IS NOT the equivalent of “health care”!

As for his “immigration reform”, nothing could be more racist than a plan to maintain slave wages and AVOID assimilating immigrants into American society. Furthermore, how is it fair to allow ILLEGALs to jump in front of those seeking citizenship via LEGAL channels?

Besides, I’m a Methodist. You won’t find a worse bunch of Commie, Pinko, Fellow-Travelers than the upper ranks of the Methodist Council. It doesn’t mean the laity shares their beliefs (esp. not in Forsyth County, Georgia...).

When you add up legal and illegal immigration 80% of it must be Catholic. So the Catholic bishops are just angling to fill their church pews with a new flock. They are sick of the old flock which built America, fought for America and is too conservative
