I am hoping that the non-leftist Justices will start to seriously consider their duty, when another case comes before them about 0bomba’s eligibility.

But that sort of raises the question: what could have been keeping them from seriously considering their duty up until now?

[Thanks, thecodont.]

Thanks for the heads up, LucyT. I am hoping the same. Also, the Congress has been stomping all over the constitution for a long time and it is coming to the point where the Supreme court is no more than a rubber stamping body bound by unconstitutional decisions made in the past.

I hope Obama’s clear disrespect for the Supreme Court’s power motivates Justice Roberts to really step on the gas in restoring the Republic to it’s constitutional powers and giving us back our individual rights.

Thanks, Lucy. I often wonder what when on behind the scenes regarding that.

Personally, I think the political mood might be right to re-examine the eligibility issue. (and Roe v. Wade)

Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. The SCOTUS is actually an appeals court. They don't have an "outreach" program. They cannot "look for trouble." Litigants have to bring it to them after working their way up the chain.
