"Equal work" means work that has equal value, value to be determined by government bureaucrat.

So under those rules a community organizer should be paid the same as a city mayor! Sort of the same job, just without all the responsibility and experience. Obama would think that makes sense! Guess all those extra bureaucrats needed will be part of the 1.5 million new jobs created.

As a teenager in the 1970’s, (I’ve come a long way, baby), I remember chanting that phrase, “Equal Pay for Equal Work” with a lot of other women’s libbers. We knew what it meant, it meant pay parity for ‘pink collar’ jobs and ‘blue collar’ jobs. If you ever remember hearing someone talking about ‘pink collar’ jobs, chances are they were talking about EPFEW, or pay parity. Sometimes I think that Row vs. Wade was a bone given to women’s libbers to shut them up about this.
