CHICAGO (AP)Friends of Animals posted an open letter to U.S. figure skater Johnny Weir criticizing him for having fox fur on one of his costumes and asking him to stop wearing fur...
I totally get the dirtiness of the fur industry and how terrible it is to animals. But its not something thats the No. 1 priority in my life, Weir said on Tuesday. There are humans dying everyday. There are thousands if not millions of homeless people in New York City. Look at what just happened in Haiti.
I tend to focus my energy, if there is a cause, on humans. While that may be callous and bad of me, its my choice"...
Weir said he thought the costume was lovely, but Friends of Animals disagreed. Foxes are electrocuted or beaten, and their pelts are obtained by skinning the animals alive, said Anai Rhoads, spokeswoman for the group...
Every skater is wearing skates made out of cow, Weir said. Maybe Im wearing a cute little fox while everyone else is wearing cow, but were all still wearing animals.

Pardon the typo(s)...
Millions of homeless in NYC??
lol
Animals do not get skinned alive.
;>)
I hope Michelle Obama doesn’t see that costume . She will have to have one just like it.
Why do female figure skaters look beautiful; and the males look like faggots?
I don't think she could pull it off (no pun intended ;>)...
;>)
Then the media would really praise her being fashion forward.
Let’s just say that Johnny Weir(d) enjoys playing to the stereotype. He’s weird all right, and I don’t care for his style, but he is a good skater (he did make the Olympic team). I am pleasantly surprised by his response, never thought I’d say this, but “Go Johnny!”
Oh, yeah, and we skin animals around here. The animal is never alive..heck, they’re dead before we bring them home! Just like the 40 lb beaver that came home this weekend. Somebody forward this to PETA, quick! Maybe they’ll all stroke out.
