So, I guess most people in this country are losing weight these days? Give me a break. When you’re out of work, you’re depressed; when you’re depressed, you overeat; when you overeat, you gain weight. Many people are having a hard time right now, but we all find a way to buy food.

Truth be told, my parish priest told me that he gets at least 6 families a week coming to the parish asking for food. We live in a farming community so we have a pretty constant flow of food goods getting sent to the church for those in need.

Faith groups know a heck of a lot better than the government how to help people out who are in need.
