Being 5% is better than being driven out entirely. Compare them to Iraq, where with no resistance at all, the last of the Christians are being driven out. Had they resisted, they might have remained an island away from the Muslims fighting other Muslims.
Or even more, compare them to the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto. Even though they resisted, they were wiped out, but it forced the Nazis to use 10 times the forces to do it. Had they not resisted, wiping them out would have been much faster and easier. Had the Nazis not been able to muster that much force, they might have survived.
Passive resistance only works when your oppressor has a conscience. Otherwise you are just a rabbit before the wolves.
If you're not in a defensible position, the thing to do is leave. Our job, in the Christian West, is to make sure we do not allow the barbarians to establish a foothold here.
