Linda will get chewed-up by the tea partiers for being on record recently donating to Rahm Emanuel and the DSCC, among other enemies.

Simmons is a retread and has no shot vs. Blumenthal

Schiff is the best of the the lot, but he's been completely icogneto.

I know nothing about Bruce Browne [sic] or how he could handle a campaign, but he could be an interesting out-of-the-box shake-up. It would have a sizzling media angle for sure, bringing in a lot of new interest to the race that a Schiff or Simmons will not get.

I like Schiff. His financial speeches are on the net and a recent one he gave to investors in Chicago at hotel was great. He is a sharp guy.

Donating to Emmanuel will be an Albatross for her. Simmons is slightly ahead of Blumendodd in the polls. The association of Blumenthal to Dodd may help Simmons but that remains to be seen. Schiff has not yet begin to campaign in earnest but he has already garnered 19% in the latest poll. Schiff has limited his campaigning to grassroots efforts but has yet to spend any large sums of money. He has raised more than $1.5 million. It should be interesting.

His brother has a lifetime of experience in politics and campaigns. It might be one thing to pluck a small alarm-company-owning neophyte and drop him into a Congressional seat. The Senate just seems too far a stretch. Also, what could be worse in terms of family/nepotism/name-based politics than making the same dynasty move of Kennedy’s successor?

CT should be in play, however, and it is frustrating that they don’t have a better candidate. I’d think some sort of successful CEO type could and should be persuaded to run.
