Though it goes counter to her conservative philosophy it actually makes sense for her. If she had supported Hayworth the media would have been all over her for being disloyal this way she gets credit for being loyal and can’t be accused of being a wild eyed conservative. This doesn’t matter to us here on FR but goes a long way with moderates.

Are you kidding? Do you really think the media will ever give Sarah credit for anything? They are going to pick on her no matter what she does. I hope she doesn't make ANY decisions based on what she thinks the media is going to do to her, cause if she does - she has more in common with McCain than I thought.
