Gazprom should be worried over their monopoly, Devon Energy (the larges U.S. producer of shale gas) signed a deal to develop shale gas in central Europe. If this catches on the Europeans could become energy independent.

Does Europe have sufficient quantities of Natural Gas in Shale to meet all their supply needs?
I have not seen that, only that they had some.
