Some years ago in Miami I had a friend who grew up in a rather poor section of town. As the years passed, more and more of his new neighbors were recent Haitian immigrants. Shortly after moving in, they would bring home a sorry-looking stray dog. Over the next few months, the dog would be well fed and cared for.
Then, on a weekend, the neighbors would hold a great backyard barbecue party. The dog would disappear, only to be replaced by another stray within the next week or two, and the cycle would repeat itself.
Free meat and old habits...
Weren't many strays as the Koreans ate alot of dog. I watched 2 guys chasing this scrounger up and down the alleyways, finally a scuffle and here they come with dog by back legs, quite common actually over there;; and street lepers too. Gotta luv the USA.
Here along the Yukon River, some white people downriver eat dog meat, and like it; nobody makes fun of them either. One guy I know gave 6 dogs from his dogteam to this joker as this guy didn't have snowmachine. The guy ended up eating 2-3 of the dogs over the winter. Nx time I run the snowmachine down that way, I took him a ham, and can of coffee, ha.
I really find it difficult to be judgmental about peoples cuisine. If you like dog then that should be legal. Just don’t take your neighbors dog.
