Governor Palin was the most popular Governor in America, and probably the most popular elected official in America, even after months of a national antiPalin media campaign Palin had very high ratings of 56% when she resigned, an approval rating that many Governors would kill for.
Only a deaf, dumb and blind apostate could spin going from 90% to 53% approval as a victory.
The only thing that stopped that slide was resignation.
