This isn’t the first generation to be cruel. They just have more tools at their disposal.

This isn’t the first generation to be cruel. They just have more tools at their disposal.

Why that may be true, the reality is that kids today are so coddled that ANY infringement on their precious self- esteem can't be handles.

Everyone gets a trophy, everyone is #1.

Question: How are kids supposed to better themselves when they're never allowed to fail?

Perhaps you’re right... but have they alwyas been mean enough to keep kicking the poor girl after she’s dead?

You’re right, but there seems to be a difference. Many more kids seem to have zero regard for other people. They don’t feel any sense of responsibility for what they do. It’s all about them. Certainly not all of them, by any means but a growing number.

Kids sent to schools by compulsory attendance laws have always been cruel and had more opportunities to be cruel. The society of schools is very much like the societies in prisons. In both casese, there is forced association.

What I will never understand is why we expect children to endure treatment that would not be tolerated by adults. If someone punched you in the face at work and took your (lunch) money or continually bullied and taunted you, they would be fired, if not arrested. Why do parents allow their children to be destroyed?
