How can you be for State's rights (marriage and abortion issues) and have State's rights in the platform?

Instead how about

- Strengthening the Constitution (to prevent runaway liberalism)

- Reversing the excesses of the Obama administration and the recent Congresses

- Overhaul of the federal tax system

- Overhaul of the judiciary

In short - a revolution to put it back the way it was. A very tall order.

Seriously, if an R can’t support at least 8 of those then he does not deserve support.

Why can’t an R that supports 8 of those positions win Independents votes.

What 3 does Sen Brown Fail?

Sen Brown opposes federal funding for elective abortions in accordance with the Hyde Amendment.

Did you right this the wrong way? How can you be for State's right and not have it in the platform is the better question.

The RNC has basically become the quintessential Washington, D.C. insider...
RNC/DNC/ABCNC - All mail from them goes right in the garbage, unopen.

Opposition to “amnesty” for immigrants;

Note the mocking italics. Also, we are not talking about immigrants, we are talking about illegals.

“We're not sure Mr. Brown would have made this cut.”

Of course he would have, easily.

These are all necessary Constitutional concepts. Anyone calling himself Republican who opposes more than 1 or 2 of these should very definitely be viewed with the deepest suspicion.

1. Support for smaller government and lower taxes
2. Support troop surges in Iraq and Afghanistan
3. Support Defense of Marriage Act
4. Support containing Iran and North Korea
5. Support gun rights
6. Oppose ObamaCare
7. Oppose cap-and-trade legislation
8. Oppose “amnesty” for ILLEGALS
9. Oppose union card check
10.Oppose government-funded abortion

All of your list plus this one: H.R. 450: Enumerated Powers Act

"Nearly all of the specific, "enumerated" Legislative Powers of Congress are spelled out in Article of I Section 8 the Constitution. By our count, there are twenty listed in Article I, Section 8, and plus two others found in other parts of the Constitution. You can read the list for yourself (Background page)".

"Because these powers are delegated from the people, they are the only Legislative Powers Congress has. But our Founding Fathers went further -- trying hard to make enumerated powers so obvious that even a politician couldn't miss the point. They passed the Ninth and Tenth Amendments to shut the door to claims of additional power" . . .

- Overhaul of the federal tax system

- Overhaul of the judiciary

These are too hopey-changey for me. In what direction would the overhaul go? One overhaul of the tax system might be to greatly increase the rates, which is what an democrat overhaul might look like. A Democrat overhaul of the judiciary would be to impeach every Reagan and Bush appointee.

Please, get specific, and specifically conservative. e.g.:

A good article—some should actually try reading all of it...

“Litmus tests are for minority parties...litmus tests are for losers...imposing a litmus test is itself an act of elitism that will make it harder for candidates to forge a winning coalition.

“Let the candidates sort out their disputes in vigorous primary campaigns.”

Amen. Can’t be said enough.
