Er, "1st case" should be "1st Amendment case".

''By offering one of the most coveted advertising spots of the year to an anti-equality, anti-choice, homophobic organization, CBS is aligning itself with a political stance that will damage its reputation, alienate viewers, and discourage consumers from supporting its shows and advertisers,'' the letter said. Keith Olbermann must have written this bile.
By the way moonbats the crap on CBS is so far ahead the crap on ABC and NBC a few thousand moonbats boycotting won't make a difference.

Everything is “divisive” to these clowns. Saying “Merry Christmas” is “divisive”. So just Screw ‘em. Gee, I wonder if that is divisive.

I do not disagree with you, the NFL decides what ads air during games, do they want to gain or lose audience and other advertisers for refusing to run an ad or granting permission for an ad. Are you going to allow your child to watch the SB if an ad as below were going to air?
I will be happy if NFL/networks run the Tebow ad, but also surprised.
Super Bowl ad rejected by LA station
02.02.2009 3:42pm EST
(Los Angeles, California) A gay marriage equality group says a local Los Angeles TV station refused to run a same-sex marriage ad during Super Bowl programming on the advise of the National Football League.
GetToKnowUsFirst.org said Monday that it was informed Friday that the ad, featuring a gay family, was rejected by KNBC after the station showed the ad to the NFL Legal Department.
The group said that it was told the NFL considered the ad advocacy, a category which the NFL says it excludes.

These same groups step forward every year bemoaning the Super Bowl because (allegedly) domestic violence increases as a result of the game. I believe it.....been there myself, actually. I learned to just stay away from the remote during the game and I wouldn't get tackled.

I agree.
I think at this point CBS would be willing to take an ad about Christianity, what terrifies them is the thought of airing an ad where a star comes out and says that he would have been aborted if the left had their way.

I agree. Nothing like a Viagra commercial and young kids wondering when they tell you what symptom you may need to go the ER for after you’ve had this med.

Jehmu is a frequent guest on O’Reilly. Maybe he’ll have her on and blast her over this.

Indeed. Freepers are known to put pressure on companies not to advertise on certain programs and vice versa. But, as I understand it, some televised programs and advertising companies do not make restrictions. That and public broadcasting should be the "common ground."

'An ad that uses sports to divide rather than to unite has no place in the biggest national sports event of the year -- an event designed to bring Americans together,'' said Jehmu Greene, president of the New York-based Women's Media Center.Gee, why not just ask NFL Sunday's Keith Olbermann what he thinks.

So very true, dear brother in Christ! They would have the same reaction to any Christian group which actually believes and wants to air what the Scriptures say about abortion, homosexuality, etc.

True. I think they are okay with “generic” Christianity being talked about (feed the poor, etc.), but they don’t want to hear anything that conflicts with their secular humanist/moral relativist mindset. They don’t want to hear that certain beliefs are not up for debate no matter what public opinion on the matter is.

Indeed. And with the case at hand, they don't want to risk the viewership of all those women who are pro-abortion. On this point, I suspect they have been sold a lie - as far as I can see, most women are anti-abortion even when they don't want laws restricting what they do to their own bodies. Seems to me the tide has turned and the real issue is speech, getting the message "out there" to the next generation - for the children's sake and so they don't make a decision they'll end up hating themselves for making.
To: Steelfish
Its this simple. If they cut it, I will miss the FIRST Super Bowl in its history. I have watched some of all of them in my years on this planet. If they cut this, I WILL NOT WATCH and will urge everyone at my church not to watch.
