I don’t think he truly wants a second term anyway, other than the sting of not being reelected being tough on his massive ego. Being President is too hard. He’d rather draw that nice comfortable lifetime pension, give paid speeches to people who want to see him, and vacation a lot.
Yeah...all that, plus he wouldn’t have to shower and shave every day anymore.
that’s an incredibly good point -— and scary for what it implies for the next 3 years
why would Obamanation even want a 2nd term? Oh, sure, it’s considered one benchmark of a reasonably good presidency etc
but leaving the WH after one term would allow Obamanation (1) a lot more “freedom” in the next 3 years to push whatever he wants without regard to his own electoral prospects;
(2) he will be able to go through the rest of his life basking in the adoration of enough people and groups that he’ll never lack for juicy speaking fees and huge book advances, not to mention that presidential pension and his existing book income.......
(3) look at his entire professional (so-called) life -— he’s always been about jumping ship to the next opportunity, not about staying the course.... it might seem like there’s nothing “better” after the presidency but to someone of Obama’s outlook and behaviors, it’s the post-presidential years that will actually be a lot more satifying, I’ll guess......
why would he slog through 4 more years (if he even can get elected) when he can go out and live his “lifestyle” surrounded by sympathetic suck-ups
(admittedly, he does have a lot of that right now, but surely the presidency must be very wearing and stressful even to a guy who can care far more about his golf games in Hawaii than about terrorist attacks)
I'm going to be somewhat surprised if he doesn't find a way to quit before 2012. I look at him and see QUITTER written all over his mealy mouth little smirking milquetoast of a face.
Hopefully Barry will be doing all that in places that really love him, none of which will be in the USA.
