WELCOME BACK RACE FANS TO DAYTONA SPEEDWEEKS WHICH BEGINS THE 2010 NASCAR SEASON
32nd annual BUDWEISER SHOOTOUT Saturday, February 6th
The race distance will continue to be 75 laps (187.5 miles) on the 2.5-mile tri-oval. The race will have two segments, of 25 and 50 laps. Both green- and yellow-flag laps will count.
Between segments, there will be a 10-minute pit stop at which time teams will pit and may elect to change tires, add fuel and make normal chassis adjustments.
Starting positions will be determined by a draw at the annual Budweiser Shootout Draw Party on Thursday night, Feb. 4, on the SPEED stage in the Midway, outside Turn 4. The Budweiser Shootout, which is scheduled for 8:10 p.m., is the climax to a racing tripleheader on Saturday, Feb. 6.
Kicking off the days activities at 1:05 p.m. will be Daytona 500 Qualifying Presented By Kroger on Fox.
At 4:30 p.m. on SPEED, the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards will kick off their season with the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 and Danica Patrick will make her much-anticipated stock car racing debut.
Gatorade Duel
Thursday February 11, 2010
Gatorade Duel At Daytona features two 150-mile qualifying races that determine the starting lineup for the Daytona 500.

You had one thing going for you. You missed the dramatics of Michael Waltrup. They had a camera focused on him and he really hammed it up as only Mikey can...

LOL - I can imagine. I was watching when they were showing him during the race watching the monitor in the “Hollywood Hotel.” I don’t dislike Mikey but I was really hoping Mears would make the race more than Mikey. Just didn’t work out that way.

Sorry about the double-post on Max Papis - he is in, not out.

Caught part of qualifying. Still trying to get my desktop to kickstart and don’t think it’s going to work.
Had about enough fun for today.

Sorry about getting back here so late (not around as much as I used to be), but NASCAR didn’t have the lineup when I posted it. It is up there now.
