Berry: Obama said "big difference" between '10 and '94 is "me" (Our deluded Messiah)

Berry recounted meetings with White House officials, reminiscent of some during the Clinton days, where he and others urged them not to force Blue Dogs “off into that swamp” of supporting bills that would be unpopular with voters back home.

“I’ve been doing that with this White House, and they just don’t seem to give it any credibility at all,” Berry said. “They just kept telling us how good it was going to be. The president himself, when that was brought up in one group, said, ‘Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me.’ We’re going to see how much difference that makes now.” [snip]

“I began to preach last January that we had already seen this movie and we didn’t want to see it again because we know how it comes out,” said Arkansas’ 1st District congressman, who worked in the Clinton administration before being elected to the House in 1996... "I just began to have flashbacks to 1993 and ’94. No one that was here in ’94, or at the day after the election felt like. It certainly wasn’t a good feeling.”

If someone unplugged his teleprompter, would that count as removing life support?
And would that count as cruel and unusual punishment for people watching the resulting spectacle?

Yeah, the “Obama brand” is approaching the combined value of Edsel, Oldsmobile, Plymouth, Pontiac and Saab combined. The amazing thing is that Axelrod and Company believe that Barry can pull off this pivot and reposition himself as a populist, with gimmicks like the bank tax—which will be passed on to consumers.

Berry’s retirement is no surprise; to me, the big news of the day is Beau Biden’s decision not to seek the Senate seat of Delaware. I realize a lot of folks don’t like his father (and who can blame them), but the Biden “machine” has got to be worth 5-10 points in the state—or it used to be.

I’m guessing that Biden’s preliminary polling showed him losing in a landslide to Mike Castle. In a blue state like Delaware, that is very telling.

The U.S. Senate is going to look very, very different one year from now, thanks in large part to the annointed one.

I know he won’t do it on air- but wouldn’t you be interested in Dr. Krauthammer’s diagnosis of The One? Even from afar it isn’t too hard to see classic symptoms of narcissism in this president. I wonder if there will ever come a point when his closest advisors begin to worry...

One more thing...anyone want to predict when Hillary Clinton will resign as Secretary of State, so she can challenge the Annointed One in 2012? My guess is no later than Oct-Nov of this year, so she’ll have time to rebuild her staff and hit the hustings.

BTW, Rush called this one a week or so ago. Mark my words, it will happen.

The Democrat who was President in 1994 was less of a narcissist, and was likable on the surface (even if he is a sociopath). Obama is cold and arrogant and doesn’t connect with the feelings of ordinary people. Why should he, when he is so much smarter than everyone else? Bashing George W. Bush and demonizing bankers, insurance companies, etc., should be enough.

“But first Republicans themselves must seize, define and expound on the conservative-across-the-board brand, THEMSELVES.”

They ought to take a lesson from Scott Brown’s campaign. He ran on a conservative platform in MA of all places. We’ll see how he turns out, but the message was right.

Yes. I would find that interesting, but he won’t do that, just like my husband won’t do it either because he hasn’t personally examined him.

probably the worst long-term outcome for this country would be for Obama’s arrogance to give currency to feckless Republicans.
