Reason I ask, this picture's caption is
"President Barack Obama points to the media, as he enters to speak, after a discussion with 6th grade students at Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Va., Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010."
implying that he is going to be speaking to reporters in this room, and the talk with the 6-graders was elsewhere.

Yes it does look like a classroom to me. I happen to have been in one with a friend of mine and her son about 4 months ago, and except for Zero the podium with the Official Seal and TOTUS it looks like a 6th grade class room to me.
Why doesnt he talk to reporters on air force one instead of setting up a podium, seal rug, 3 speakers and 2 totus.
good point — it seems that there may be a presser set up here after some encounter with the 6th graders elsewhere -— because that is certainly not the wall of any 6th grade classroom*

You are correct that the podium and TOTUS were there for the reporters and not the students. It is still very sad that this man needs the TOTUS to speak to the press...and I didn’t see any mention of him taking questions.
Now that you mention it, it does look a lot more like a modern 10th grade classroom!
Ok so he’s speaking to reporters AFTER he spoke to the kids. Why the F*CK would he need at teleprompter at that point .
