Frustration rising among Texas voters, political analysts say

Brooding discontent, fanned by the nation’s economic woes, is emerging as a driving force in the 2010 elections as voters put incumbents and establishment politicians on notice that they will no longer tolerate business as usual.

Republican Scott Brown’s election last week to the Massachusetts Senate seat that Democrat Ted Kennedy held for 46 years underscored the rebellious mood gripping voters. The same undercurrents are roiling the political waters in Texas ahead of the state’s Republican and Democratic primaries March 2.

Opinion surveys and anecdotal evidence point to a deep distrust of government and growing doubts about the future. In one survey last fall, more than 40 percent of Texans sampled said they were economically worse off than a year ago, compared with 17 percent who said their situation had improved.

Medina, a gun-toting conservative with libertarian views, jumped from 4 percent to 12 percent in the latest Rasmussen poll after a debate performance that spotlighted the nurse-businesswoman as an alternative to the two big-name politicians.

flying their flag upside down for weeks despite annoying some of their neighbors.

They should have their head stuck in a toilet for doing that to our flag.

With poor candidates such as Perry and KBH I would seriously look at Medina. Perry has been there too long and let too much power corrupt him. He is the poster child for term limits.

I could go for a libertarian. But 12% ain’t much. Who among the majors does this help? Hopefully not the Dems.

That is the international sign of distress which is applicable in this case.

I know what it is and its not true. Only Jerks do that. Some of us who fought under our flag respect it.

Not sure I can agree with her suggestion to legalize drugs. I think the Mexican Cartels would. "Texas-we're open for Business"

Let’s see we have two RINOS running and a woman who if she doesn’t get her way will throw a big tantrum and sue. She also has never been a CEO or run a company that I am aware of. To be fair; that is what I have heard about Medina. All three of them are real long on gusts of wind though and spending huge amounts of money on kicking each other. And that’s just the Republican side. Don’t even think about the Democrats.

Is there an honest to God candidate out there that cares about America anymore; will do the right thing and tell the truth?

That’s why I’m voting for Kinky. Why the hell not?

...

Now that I have your attention: I’d entertain a vote for Medina in the primary. In the general, I’ll vote for whoever isn’t the ‘Rat, and my guess is that’ll be Perry.

KBH is more malleable to the liberal platform than is Perry.

Not that either one of them is worth a tinker’s damn.

Doesn’t voting for the lesser of the three evils suck?

I wonder if it’ll ever be different.

Medina is an excellent speaker but has not a clue as to exactly how the government operates. Would like to see her run for a local office first, let us get some history on her and then may run for gov next time, depending on her record. She has some great ideas but no clue as to how to implement them. Suspect Bill White will be the Dimwit nominee and there is no way she would ever beat him-way too much power and money. He would have a cake walk. IMO if Pubbies want to stay in charge of Texas, we’ve got to go with Perry.
